Jason Rubero: Music
Theme For Misery (2003)
(Jason Rubero)
April 29, 2003
This one opens with a chorus of beautiful Violet-voices... she was only 9 at the time! I was proud, and it was fun recording with her. :-)
Never could quite get my own vocals dialed in on this one. Nevertheless, I like the lyrics and the groove of this song - the rhythm turned out well. As did the electric guitar solo and the mandolin.
Have you ever been so down?
You know what I'm saying
You with furrow, and with frown
You, with edges fraying
I'm right there with you as you start to drown
Clawing at the millstone as we're sinking down
(In heavy times a day is a ton)
But we can raise from the water
On the wings of His hope
We can unlock the chains and cut away the rope
(Or melt the scythe in the twinkling of an eye)
All you people, gather 'round
You mayors and prefects of Sullentown
No need to be shallow
There's so much depth in this fight
If you find the day's too heavy
Try walking in light
Have you ever been so down?
